OUR STORY

Our story began in a way neither of us could have predicted. It was a simple day for Nickesha—taking her car in to get new tires—but little did she know, it would lead to a chance encounter with Alvin. As she arrived at Alvin’s job, he immediately stood out, not just because of his work ethic, but because of the genuine concern he showed for her well-being. His kindness and attention captured her heart in that instant, and what started as a brief exchange quickly turned into something more.

From that day forward, their connection grew stronger. Both passionate about travel and spending time with friends and family, they found joy in the little things—whether it was exploring new places or laughing together with loved ones. Alvin’s attentiveness, patience, and gentle nature complemented Nickesha’s thoughtfulness, strong sense of family, and her nurturing spirit as a mother. Each of them admired the qualities that made the other unique, and they knew early on that they were meant to build a life together.

The moment Alvin proposed was nothing short of magical. Surrounded by their closest friends and family at their holiday party, Alvin asked Nickesha to spend forever with him. It was a moment of pure joy and celebration, marking the beginning of their shared future.

As they prepare to unite their families and grow together, they are excited for what lies ahead, knowing that the love and support of both their families will only strengthen their bond. This is just the beginning of a beautiful journey, one where their love for each other—and for their loved ones—will continue to flourish.

Our joyous ceremony will be held in St Paul's United Methodist Church which is located in the heart of Tallahassee's Midtown. You can find plenty of parking around the area. After the ceremony there will be a half mile drive to the reception venue.

WHAT'S THE DRESSCODE?

Our wedding is a formal dress event. We would love to see our guests in "black" formal suits, gowns and cocktail dresses, or even fancier if that's your style.

CAN I BRING A PLUS ONE?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate additional guest beyond those named on the invitation and their spouses. We hope you understand and can still join us to celebrate our special day.

WHAT'S ON THE MENU?

The last touches are still being made, so we can't share the detailed menu yet, but the theme will include our local favorites. We do cater to allergies and special diets, just inform us in the RSVP form.

ARE CHILDREN WELCOME?

We love children, but we will not be able to accommodate all children at this event. Please let us know in advance if you need help making local accommodations.

CAN I MAKE A SPEECH?

Unfortunately, time will be limited and the line-up of speakers is complete. However, we would love to hear your stories and anecdotes about the bride and groom during the cocktail hour!

CAN I TAKE PICTURES?

We have a hired a professional photographer, so you only need to remember to pose for him. You can also take pics, just remember to share them with us too!

Instead, we invite our dear family and friends to contribute to the future we are building—whether through supporting our home improvement projects, helping us start a new venture, or even making our dream vacation a reality. If you’d like to leave a gift, cards will be welcome at the venue on the day of the wedding. However you choose to bless us, your generosity will be deeply appreciated.

TRAVELING TIPS

For our out of town guests, we are very appreciative for you effort to join us in our celebration. We have gathered some info here for a successful stay.

THE JOURNEY HERE

The closest airport is Tallahassee International Airport (airport code TLH). Midtown is the location of the ceremony and reception. It is an area just minutes from the city center and downtown Tallahassee. The easiest and fastest way from the city center to the ceremony venue is to drive or use a car service (Lyft, Uber, taxi).

ACCOMMODATIONS

There are plenty of accommodation options that cater to all budgets; here are some our recommendations for you. Some were able to offer us discounts!

Hotels

The DoubleTree by Hilton is offering special rates for guests staying for the weekend! It's a beautiful hotel located in Tallahassee's downtown area, minutes away from the church and reception venue. The AC Hotel Tallahassee invites you to enjoy exclusive weekend rates for your stay! Situated in the heart of downtown Tallahassee, this chic and contemporary hotel is moments away from the church and reception venue. Valet and overnight parking are available for an added convenience fee. Book your group rate for Neals Wedding Block at the AC Hotel Tallahassee. As a reminder, the cut-off date for your block is

12 pm, Monday, 28th April.

Of course there are many other options for hotels in the area. We would recommend choosing one in Tallahassee's downtown area.

Airbnb

Also, don't forget to check out Airbnb, as there are some great options nearby. Be quick, we're expecting places to book up fast! Look up places around the Wedding venue area in Midtown, and Tallahassee's North Side. Tallahassee is small and easy to navigate, any part of town will be convenient.

PLACES TO SEE

There are some must see attractions nearby such as Cascades Park, Florida Historic Capitol Museum and the Railroad Square Art District.
